Kayla was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She received her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Pre-Law at Lakehead University in 2024. Kayla has just finished her second year at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law and is expected to receive her Juris Doctor degree in June of 2027.

As a summer student, she is excited to learn more about Human Rights, as it has been a long-time passion of hers, as well as Aboriginal and Indigenous law.

In her free time, she enjoys sewing, spending time out at her grandparents' camp and reading.
